Category A Motorcycle License
With a large fleet of motorcycles and all the required safety riding equipment, we offer tuition for the following license A categories:
A1: Motorcycles with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 125 cubic centimetres, of a power not exceeding 11 kW.
A2: Motorcycles of a power not exceeding 35 kW.
A: Full Motorcycle License
All lessons are held with one of our highly qualified instructors and are tailored according to your needs and abilities. We offer practical lessons and will guide you through the best route to start riding with confidence.
Apply for your learner’s permit online
Visit https://licenzji-xufiera.gov.mt and sign in with your E-ID or manually fill in your personal details. The application is completed in 3 phases.

- Phase 1: Upload all necessary information and choose ANY instructor for Gordon’s Motoring School to accept your application.

- Phase 2: Visit a medical doctor to accept your learner’s permit by issuing an electronic medical certificate.

- Phase 3: Pay a fee of €23.25 for your learner’s permit directly to Transport Malta.
Fees
Application Fee €60: Includes motoring school fee and Insurance cover in case of damage done on motoring school vehicles. This fee must be paid once your learner’s permit is accepted from TM.
Lessons €18: 45 minutes each lesson. The lesson fee needs to be paid in advance, on the date of booking.
Theory Test €30.25: You need to apply for the Theory Test online on maltatheorytest.com and pay the fee directly with Transport Malta Test Centre. You can test your knowledge by taking a mock-test on maltadriving.com
Practical Test €75: Includes the Transport Malta fees (€23.25) and the Motoring School fees (€51.75) for the day of the test.

125cc Permit
Category B Motorcycle Permit (125cc)
From the 1st January 2016, car drivers with a Maltese Category B license could start riding motorcycles with an engine capacity not exceeding 125cc and a power output not exceeding 11kW.
We provide the tuition for the Permit B which will cover the following Modules:
Module 1: Introduction
Module 2: Theory on-site training
Module 3: Practical on-site riding
Module 4: Practical on-road training
Module 5: Practical on-road riding
The motorcycle engine capacity must not exceed 125cc and have a power rating of 11kW or less. Kindly note that with the Permit B course, riders are not allowed to carry a pillion rider and the permit is only valid in Malta. A certificate is issued upon completion of the course and Transport Malta will update the license with the national code 111.
Course Fee : €180
The fee includes 10 lessons, insurance cover in case of damage done on motoring school vehicles, and the certificate awarded upon completion of all the modules listed above.

Advanced Motorcycle Training Course
Do you want to take your riding to the next level and become a more confident rider?
Our UK police trained, Maltese licensed instructor will guide you through advanced riding techniques on a one to one basis on our new half day course.
Covering topics such as hazard perception, positioning, reading the road ahead, overtaking techniques and making progress.
The course includes a private classroom briefing followed by on road skills. The course is not designed to make you ride faster, just safer and better equipped to enjoy your own motorcycle to the full.
Course requirements:
- A1, A2 or A category motorcycle licence.
- Be very familiar with your motorcycle and have ridden at least 500Km on your current motorcycle.
- You must be in a good state of health (fit to ride) and wear appropriate clothing (a helmet with intercom will be provided)
- Your motorcycle must be in good roadworthy condition and meet all legal requirements for the road (insurance, tax, tyre condition etc.)
- We offer the Advanced course between October and February. Adverse weather conditions offer a better learning experience for the rider during this course.
Course Fee: €150
The fee includes 4 hours of intensive training with our instructor.
A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the training.
Frequently asked questions
How do I apply for the A License?
To apply for the A license, the first step is to apply for a Learner’s Permit from Transport Malta. This can be done through the Transport Malta website or by filling in the application form. The form can be collected from our showroom or downloaded with our application pack. Once you complete the form you need to submit it at our showroom. In the pack you will find more information about how to complete the TM form. The €60 application fee needs to be paid when submitting the form. We also suggest booking the first five lessons with the application. Please note that lessons need to be paid in advance.
How do I apply for the 125cc Permit?
To apply for the 125cc Permit course you can simply visit our showroom. Please bring a copy of your car (B) driving license as we will need a copy for insurance purposes. Payment is required in order to secure the booking.
How do I apply for the Advanced Course?
We offer the Advanced course between October and February. To apply for the Advanced course you can simply visit our showroom. Please bring a copy of your motorcycle driving license as we will need a copy for insurance purposes. A 50% deposit is also required in order to secure the booking.
How can I study for the Theory Test?
To prepare yourself for the Theory Test you can download the study questions in English or Maltese from the links on our website (above). You can also test your knowledge by going through the test questions and sitting for a mock-test on maltadriving.com
How do I apply for the Theory Test?
To apply for the theory test you can contact the Theory Test Center on: 2122 7190 and request an appointment or you can apply online on maltatheorytest.com. Their address is: Theory Test Centre, Telgha Ta’ Gwardamanga Pieta, PTA 1313 (link to map here).
What are the requirements for the A License?
In order to apply for the A license you need a Maltese ID / residence card and to have been residing in Malta for over 185 days (six months) in the last calendar year. There are also age restrictions for the different categories – A1: 18 years / A2: 20 years / A: 24 years or 2 years experience with an A2 license. Good balance on a bicycle is also essential before starting the lessons.
What are the requirements for the 125cc Permit?
A Maltese car (B) driving license is required in order to apply for the 125cc Permit since this will be extension of the car license. Good balance on a bicycle is also essential before starting the course.
Can I apply for the 125cc Permit with an EU driving License?
A Maltese car (B) driving license is required in order to apply for the permit. If you already hold a driving license issued by another EU country you will need to convert it to a Maltese driving license before applying for the permit course. Transport Malta will need to endorse the permit on the driving license and only a Maltese license document is accepted.
How do I exchange my EU driving license?
You can exchange an EU driving license to a Maltese driving license through Transport Malta. More information and a copy of the form can be found on the official TM website (link here)

Our lessons are held at the Park and Ride car park in Pembroke (link to map here).
What time are the lessons held?
Lessons are held from Monday to Friday between 7:20am and 8:15pm and Saturdays between 7:20am and 1pm. All bookings need to be made in advance at our showroom.
